The Clarion River might just be the most underrated fly-fishing destination in the state. Years ago, the Clarion was a mess, but starting in the 1980s, a massive clean-up effort began and today the water below Johnsonburg may be some of the best trophy brown trout water in the State.
Don grew up just 60 yards from the Bighorn River and moved to the Clarion when he was 11. Now he makes his living guiding clients and working as a live line gas welder. Today Don shares stories of slingin’ meat (streamer fishing) for wild Browns, caddis hatches of biblical proportions, and why guiding brings him so much joy.
